Our new Epson 9900 December 2011  !!!

After 4 years of printing with our trusted 7880 the time had come to upgrade to the latest Epson technology AND due to so many requests from our clients or larger prints we have just bought the Epson 9900 44" A0 printer.

Why I started my own Print Studio 

Frustration:
As a photographer I became very disillusioned by the varied results I got when I had my work printed. Collecting printed work became a stressful experience because I never knew if  I was going to be satisfied with the colour and the contrast of the print. More often than not I had to request re-printing. Requesting repeated re-printing of the same work would often make me feel like the villain and not the victim which I was in that situation - I would then just accept a print although I knew that it was not right.

Solution:
The only solution was to invest a lot of money in a top of the range professional printer and RIP software. That was the easy part. Learning the art of printing was the challenging and tedious part BUT also the most exciting and rewarding in the end. I now print in abundance and stand amazed at the beautifully reproduced colours on fine art papers and canvasses.

Printing for clients

I personally do the printing with my two expert assistants. We do test prints on the media at different settings before the final print. We prefer that the client proof the tests prints before we continue and prefer that clients living close-by attend the test printing. We mail test prints to clients outside the Durban area although we now have many photographers that accept my judgment on the test prints and allows us to continue without viewing the test prints.

How to get your images to us for printing

If you live in or around Durban you can bring the images on CD or memory stick to our studio and sit down for coffee or tea while we do the test prints.
If you live elsewhere you can upload your images to our FTP site or use www.wetransfer.com to send images or send us a CD with the images.
